Sam Graduated From Puppy School

After 8 weeks of training, Sam graduated from Puppy School on Saturday January 31, 2009. We worked hard on "down", "sit" and "stay". She can now walk on a leash without pulling and she sits next to you when you stop walking.

Next she and Brandy are going to a trick class where they will learn to roll over, backup, play dead, high five and wave. They are going to be the best dogs ever.

Chicot State Park Camping trip

Not what we expected. It was a two mile hike to the camp site, didn't realize it was to a swamp. We ate with sticks because we forgot to bring utensils. We camped at the north part of the park, not the place to camp if you want to get away. We heard dogs barking all night and gunshots and cars. When we left we found out how close we were to a neighborhood. Other parts of the park are nice. They are redoing some trials and they do have good fishing. All in all it was an ok trip and the dogs had a good time.

Kistasche National State Park

Our trip to Kistasche National State Park was just in time before the spring semester. Our dogs had a blast. I never thought Louisiana had anything to offer when is comes to hiking and camping, but I am finding some great places to go. Brooke and I are looking for a kayak, at least I am, I just need to convince her she is to. Our dogs were abnormally well behaved and stayed on the trail with a free leash.

Why on Blogger

I was looking for an old Marine Corps buddy and saw he was on Blogger. I have kept in contact with most of my Marine friends except him. I am also on here to share Brooke's and I life with our friends that we don't see but once a blue moon.
